Are you wondering about the Math-U-See Gamma level? Well, I am so glad you’re here, because I’m here to tell you about it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But first, what is Math-U-See<\/a> anyway? Math-U-See is the math curriculum from Demme Learning (also the creators of Spelling-U-See, Analytical Grammar, and more!). It uses a multi-sensory mastery method<\/a> of learning and focuses on understanding how numbers and concepts relate to one another instead of memorization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I first discovered Math-U-See when looking for a supplemental curriculum<\/a> for my child, who was struggling with addition and subtraction math facts. It was so successful<\/strong> that we completely switched our homeschooling math curriculum to Math-U-See!<\/p>\n\n\n

What Does Gamma<\/em> Mean?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of my favorite things about this curriculum is levels are not based on age or grade level<\/strong>. Instead, they are based purely on skill level and named with innocuous labels (the Greek alphabet). This is a subtle yet impactful<\/strong> difference, especially when you have a child not on a typical grade level for whatever reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math-U-See Gamma<\/strong> is the level that introduces and teaches multiplication<\/a>. It covers both single-digit and multi-digit multiplication using place value strategies. And while multiplication fluency is the focus of Gamma, other concepts are also taught. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
